2 bedroom cabin in the heart of the chilcotin

The owner of this farm in the Chilcotin is looking for that right individual. This remote property has chickens, sheep, a couple horses and cows. The ranch owner is a senior who is still very actively looking after most of the farm duties with the help of current farmhand. However there is alot to do and she does require help from time to time. Help is required to get wood assist in barnyard activites like moving hay helping with chickens, plowing snow, irrigation and general ranch duties. Knowledge with wood fires is a very strong asset almost a necessity unless you are a quick learner and can take instruction. Duties may change as time goes on depending on the owner’s capabilities.

If you love animals and animal husbandry have experience working with seniors, have experience with wood heat and enjoy living in a remote setting this could be a great opportunity for both parties.

Your living accommodations would be a comfortable two-bedroom log cottage with an enclosed screened porch and can be furnished or unfurnished, your choice. This is located adjacent to the main farmhouse.

The rent is $ 900 per month which includes hydro. Hours worked on the farm can be put towards rent or whatever arrangement is made to suit both parties. Sharing a vegetable garden is an option, along with a place for your horse if that was required. An indoor dog or cat would also be allowed.

You will need good rental and work references, with reliable transportation, a good car or truck that can handle winter road conditions. Also have experience living in a rural environment would be a huge asset, if not you must be aware that doctors and groceries (except for a few items available locally) are one hour and forty-five mins away.
You would be responsible for getting your own wood for your cottage, and this is the only source of heat, it is usually possible to buy wood locally and get it delivered.
