This beautiful suite is perfect for a artist - studio space available- senior or a person with mobility issues. The deck overlooks Broughton Strait, marine traffic, whales, birds and directly into the ocean waters where diving ducks are feeding A tenant has the option of furnished or unfurnished. The suite is on the main floor and there are no steps.
The rent, $2200 per month, includes cable tv., wifi, hydro, utilities and laundry facilities. There is a full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, living room, and studio or office space overlooking the ocean.
We are 100 meters from the Co-op store, ferry dock, gas station, Coho Joe's restaurant and Malcolm Island Food Company with food to go. There is very little need for a car. The area is mobility scooter friendly. There is a wonderful level walk along the beach road in both directions, The post office is 50 meters from our front door and the seniors center is 200 meters. All necessities are at hand. Our cell reception is excellent. We have a very functional harbour with the Burger Barn open there all summer. There are 6 ferries a day to Port McNeill starting at 7:50 AM, 10:40, 1:40PM, 4:35, 7;00 and 9:00. And bus service to Port Hardy. There is weekly bus service to down island. The ferry has no charge for seniors Monday to Thursday. We also have a library, medical clinic, ambulance service and volunteer fire department. Sointula is a great community to live in. There are friendly people, hiking trails, great beachcombing, sports fishing, kayaking from your front door and wildlife everywhere! "I stayed at the Oceanfront for four months in the spring of 2023 and I know I will count that time among my most enjoyable memories. The hotel itself is charming, cozy, and well-cared for; the staff is welcoming, helpful, and willing to do whatever they can to make your stay enjoyable. It’s a great location whether you want some private, reflective retreat time to soak in the silence (which I did) or whether you prefer to enter into the comings and goings of the friendly town and its cast of characters. You absolutely cannot beat the Oceanfront’s location. It has the most marvelous sunsets, sightings of marine life, and a front-row seat from which to watch the ferry coming and going. It all adds up to time well spent in a beautiful paradise. Come and experience it for yourself."
