For those new to Calgary, here's a little bit more information about the neighborhood: Mission is a super trendy neighborhood with lots of great restaurants, pubs nearby and cool shops. You're less than a block away from sushi, pub food, great coffee, delicious pastries and sandwiches and a plethora of International restaurants. Walking distance to the "Red Mile" to enjoy even more fantastic eats and night life. Close to the river pathway if you want to go for a run/bike on the banks of the Elbow River or just out for an evening walk to take in the beautiful scenery.
There is limited street parking available. The City of Calgary recently introduced changes to the neighborhood and there is a new process for applying for a permit to park on the permitted streets. The permit is called a "Market Permit" and you can apply for it here: https://permits.calgaryparking.com/how-to-apply/. It will cost an additional $100 a month and takes 24 to 48 hours for approval. Once you apply and are approved, it will become active on the following month (ie. you apply in February, the permit becomes available in March; you apply in March, the permit becomes available in April). In the meantime, there is free street parking on 2nd Street in 2-hour increments Monday to Saturday from 0900 to 2100hrs, except for holidays. For all statutory holidays and on Sundays, you may park on 2nd Street all day for free.
